FIRE PROTECTION
FOR TREASURE
CAY & NORTH ABACO
Treasure Cay and North Abaco are extremely vulnerable to fire. We must protect ourselves and our property and the time is now! The Fire Committee is working on your behalf. The ultimate success depends on you!
Phase One:
- Top quality used Pumper and Tanker Truck
- Apparel and tools for Volunteer firefighters
- A “Quick Alert” system of small portable pumps and hoses
We now have a Pumper (Pictured above) which will enable us, when accompanied by a Tanker, to bring sufficient water to bear on a major fire. We now have tools and apparel for the use and protection of our Volunteer Brigade.
Phase Two:
Fire Chief, Colin Albury, is now resident in Treasure Cay with his Ambulance and Crash & Rescue Vehicle. The training of our Volunteer Brigade can now begin. Dr. John Shedd will train Volunteers in emergency medical techniques.
Phase Three:
The completion of a Fire Station & Animal Clinic. Building plans are approved. Foundation work will soon begin.
Still Needed: A Tanker Truck and “Quick Alert” Systems.
Quick Alert systems are needed to gain fast access to narrow roads and paths in our Community. A Tanker Truck is needed to supplement water supply to our Pumper.
